In a gothic and eerie setting, a British nobleman, with the initials L.V., confronts the mysterious death of his wife, Ligeia, whose presence lingers in every corner of his life. Tormented as he is, L.V. tries to rebuild his existence with the arrival of a new companion, Verdena, a young woman who evokes the essence of his deceased beloved. As their relationship blossoms, the dark past soon begins to haunt them. Strange visions and unexplained phenomena start to assail L.V., as the connection between the world of the living and that of the dead seems to fade away.

With a backdrop of mystery and psychological horror, the film delves into madness, obsession, and the immortality of love that transcends death. The atmosphere becomes charged with tension as L.V. becomes a prisoner of his own memories, and the viewer wonders if it is truly Ligeia's spell that persists in his life or if his new lover harbors dark secrets. The beautiful landscapes of ruins and the unsettling music add a touch of magic to the tale, leading us to a climax where reality and fantasy intertwine, revealing that there is always a price to pay for eternal love. With unexpected twists and a chilling conclusion, the protagonist's visions will engulf us in a whirlwind of emotions and questions about life, death, and what lies beyond.
