In the midst of the booming Italy of the 1960s, we meet a clever thief named Totò, a man who manages to survive in a world full of opportunities and traps. With impeccable humor and a great dose of cunning, Totò joins his friend and accomplice in engaging in rather illicit ‘business.’ Their latest scheme takes them to the streets of Rome, where they decide to pose as glamorous merchants to steal from the elite. Dressed in suits and with the necessary charm, they infiltrate a public art auction.
What begins as a simple scam to make quick money transforms into a series of entanglements and misunderstandings involving a colorful cast of characters, from unsuspecting aristocrats to a detective who always shows up in the least opportune places. As their plan begins to unravel, Totò and his friend must face a series of hilarious and complex situations that put them in tight spots.
The blend of comedy and social critique allows for an exploration of themes such as greed and avarice in a society obsessed with appearances, all through laughter. The film is a showcase of wit and audacity, where every plot twist keeps the audience glued to the screen, eager to see how our protagonists manage to get out of the messes they've landed in. Adventure is guaranteed!
