The Tree of Wooden Clogs

In a peaceful village in Lombardy, the life of a group of peasants revolves around nature and daily work. As the seasons change, the protagonists face the challenges of rural life in the 19th century. The story follows several families who, despite their poverty, find comfort in their community and the bonds that connect them.

The narrative centers on the family of a humble peasant who uses his skills to support his children and provide them with a better future. However, not everything is idyllic; economic difficulties, difficult decisions, and entrenched traditions begin to weigh upon them.

When the family is forced to sell their cherished wooden clogs, a symbol of their identity and labor, a series of events unfold that reveal the struggle for dignity and survival in a world that seeks to crush them. Throughout the film, the director captures the essence of peasant life, with an almost poetic attention to the details that make each scene feel authentic and deeply moving.

With stunning cinematography and a poignant narrative, we are invited to reflect on sacrifice, love, and family ties in the midst of adversity, while the beautiful yet relentless nature moves forward at its own pace.
