In a most peculiar Soviet Russia, a shrewd, ruined nobleman, Ippolit Matveyevich, embarks on a hilarious treasure hunt. Following the death of his mother, he discovers that she hid a valuable treasure in the form of jewelry inside one of the twelve stylish chairs in their old home. Armed with wit and a surprising mix of persuasion and trickery, Ippolit dives into a frenzy of adventures and entanglements, determined to find the chair that holds his fortune.
Accompanied by an unexpected group of characters, from a brilliant con artist to an ambitious young woman and an old militia companion with more than a few tricks up his sleeve, Ippolit must navigate a series of comical and dangerous situations.
