In a small Czech village at the end of World War II, the lives of its inhabitants take an unexpected turn with the arrival of a group of refugees. Among them is Jiri, a young artist trying to rebuild his life after losing his family in the conflict. As he attempts to adapt to his new reality, Jiri is drawn to Eva, a beautiful woman who has also suffered the loss of loved ones. The connection between them is deep, but the ghosts of the past loom over them, complicating their budding relationship.
As the days go by, the village is immersed in tensions between the old residents and the newcomers. Distrust and fear threaten to overflow, and Jiri becomes a bridge between the two communities, trying to promote peace and reconciliation. However, the secrets and grudges of past experiences begin to come to light.
