The Working Class Goes to Heaven

  • Log in or register to post comments

In a transforming social and economic Italy, a factory worker struggles to find his place in a world that seems to have forgotten his humanity. Lulù, a union worker, confronts the exhausting routine of life on the production floor, where machines buzz incessantly and the pressure from bosses stifles any hint of camaraderie. As labor conflicts escalate, Lulù becomes a fervent advocate for workers' rights, dreaming of a fairer and more equitable future.

However, life is not simple: the industrial system consumes him, and his personal life suffers from a lack of time and attention towards his family. In his quest to balance his revolutionary aspirations with family commitments, Lulù faces a series of challenges that lead him to question his role in the struggle. Through a raw and realistic narrative, the film depicts the alienation and discontent of the working class, illustrating a world where dreams of freedom and dignity seem as distant as the sky.

With a focus on both social and emotional aspects, the story delves into the contradictions of a life marked by effort and sacrifice, as Lulù tries to find his voice in a system that often feels unrelenting. An incisive look at the daily struggles that still resonate today.
