The lives of Bill and Judy Templeton, a couple settled in the quiet routine of their family life, are disrupted when a stranger crosses their path. An unknown man named Elliot Hoover tries to convince them that their daughter, Ivy, is the reincarnation of Audrey Rose, a girl who tragically died in a car accident years ago. At first, Bill and Judy dismiss Elliot as an obsessed lunatic, but as unsettling events unfold, they begin to doubt their skepticism.

Ivy starts experiencing strange sensations and visions that seem to connect her with her supposed past life. As the tension escalates, the couple faces a series of personal and spiritual conflicts, forcing them to question not only life and death but also their own parenthood and the stability of their family. Elliot is convinced that Ivy must undergo a ritual that will allow the young Audrey to be freed from a cycle of suffering, adding a layer of desperation and imminent danger.

The story touches on profound themes such as parental love, grief, and the metaphysical questions of existence. The atmosphere thickens into a mix of suspense and drama, pushing the characters to their limits as they struggle to find answers to a mystery that seems to transcend reality. With unexpected twists and a poignant message, the film challenges the viewer's beliefs about the soul and the connection between past and present lives.
