In Nazi-occupied Poland during World War II, a theater company finds itself at the center of a plot filled with espionage and comedy. The protagonists are the famous actress María Tura and her egocentric and mediocre actor husband, Fredrick, who must deal with the consequences of the German invasion while trying to maintain the illusion of their artistic world. However, the situations drastically change when a series of events pulls them into a life-or-death conflict.
María, who has her own admirers, gets embroiled in a complicated situation as Fredrick's jealousy is awakened. As the occupation progresses, the theater becomes the last refuge of resolution and resistance. With the country in crisis, the protagonists devise a ridiculous plan: to use their theatrical talent to pose as Nazis to unmask a spy and save a group of Jewish refugees.
Immersed in hilarious entanglements and with a subtle political backdrop, this incredibly funny film blends comedy with social criticism, portraying the struggle for survival and dignity in dark times. With memorable performances and a clever script, the movie stands out for its sharp humor, challenging oppression with laughter and wit. In a conflict where everyone must choose between survival or resistance, each character discovers how far they are willing to go to protect what they love.
