In this gripping story set in the 1950s, we follow Ed Avery, a dedicated teacher who leads an apparently tranquil life with his wife and son. However, everything changes when he is diagnosed with a serious illness. In an attempt to find a solution, he agrees to participate in an experimental treatment that involves the use of a powerful and risky medication. At first, the treatment seems to be a blessing, as Ed feels revitalized and full of energy, allowing him to reconnect with his family and his passion for teaching.

However, as the side effects of the medication begin to manifest, his personality undergoes a drastic transformation. From a sweet and loving man, he becomes an aggressive and domineering figure, leaving his family caught in a whirlwind of emotional chaos. His addiction to the drug leads him to obsess over his own greatness, creating an imbalance in his life and in the lives of those around him. His erratic behavior causes tensions at home, and his wife struggles to find a way to help him while trying to protect their son from the growing storm.

In a narrative that explores the dangers of desperation and the desire for power, this story prompts the viewer to reflect on the limits of ambition and the cost of losing control, illustrating how a promise of greatness can turn into a deadly trap.
