Black Orpheus

In the vibrant streets of Rio de Janeiro during Carnival, the love story between Orpheus, a charming and talented musician, and Eurydice, a young and beautiful woman who arrives in the city in search of a new beginning, unfolds. As the festivities burst with colors and rhythms, their connection becomes a whirlwind of passion and happiness. Orpheus, captivated by the magic of music, feels irresistible in the presence of Eurydice, who is equally enchanted by his talent. But love in paradise always comes with its challenges.

The relationship complicates when jealousy and a dark past threaten their happiness. A mysterious man from Orpheus's circle, resentful and filled with bitterness, decides to intervene in this love story, unleashing a series of tragic events. As Carnival reaches its peak in splendor, the couple's fate darkens, leading them on a journey of hopelessness and longing. The atmosphere turns into a game of shadows between life and death, where music and dance intertwine with loss and yearning.

Marking a milestone in film history, this work combines Greek mythology with the rich Brazilian culture, while celebrating love in its purest and most painful form. Through its powerful imagery and immersive melodies, the narrative reminds us that sometimes, what feels eternal can fade away in an instant.
