In a post-war England, a group of British soldiers returns from the battlefields of World War I, carrying not only their backpacks but also the emotional and physical scars left by the war. The story focuses on one of these men who, after experiencing the horror and camaraderie of the front lines, returns home with a longing to reintegrate into everyday life. However, he faces the harsh reality of a society that has changed and that he no longer recognizes.

As he tries to adapt, he feels trapped between the duty to be a good citizen and the desire to continue experiencing the intense emotions that only war provided him. On his journey of rediscovery, he reconnects with old friends and family but also witnesses the struggles of those who couldn’t escape the conflict. Tensions rise when he realizes that some of his friends are still grappling with their own demons, creating an atmosphere of nostalgia and disillusionment.

Through this emotional exploration, the movie immerses us in the dilemma of reintegration, the search for identity, and the meaning of peace. With a raw and sincere portrayal of life after the war, the characters show us that true heroism can lie in the process of healing and finding a new purpose in a world that keeps moving forward without them.
