In the vibrant 1920s, the city of Chicago buzzes with glamour, jazz, and scandals. The story follows Roxie Hart, an ambitious and dreamy young woman eager to make a name for herself in show business. When her beloved, disillusioned by her constant quest for fame, is murdered after a quarrel, Roxie finds herself caught in a monumental mess. Accused of homicide, her only salvation lies in the figure of the cunning lawyer Billy Flynn, who crafts a defense strategy based on the media scandals that capture the public's attention.

As Roxie navigates the ups and downs of the judicial system, she encounters Velma Kelly, another woman accused of murder who used to shine on stage. Both women rival for public attention and personal glory, each using her charm and skills to deal with the press and maintain her perfect image. In this game of manipulation and ambition, the spectacle unfolds not only in the courtroom but also on stage, where fantastic musical numbers reveal their darkest secrets and desires.

The film is an explosive mix of music, dance, and drama, reflecting the cabaret spirit of the era while planting the seed of social critique about fame and sensationalism. Through unexpected twists and a dynamic narrative, Roxie's story becomes a fierce commentary on what one is willing to do for stardom.
