In a small town in the United States during the 1970s, a group of teenagers faces the ups and downs of life as they prepare for summer. The story centers on two inseparable friends, Doug and Maureen, who, despite coming from very different backgrounds, find a unique connection through their passion for music and their desire to escape the monotonous routine of their daily lives.

The arrival of a fair in the town brings a whirlwind of emotions and opportunities. As the young people immerse themselves in the hustle and bustle of the fair, they become enmeshed in a world of fun, games, and promising relationships. Amid cotton candy and roller coasters, Doug begins to flirt with the idea of becoming a local musician, while Maureen struggles to find her identity in an environment that often dismisses her dreams.

However, the fair also serves as a backdrop for the challenges of adolescence: jealousy, insecurities, and the struggle for acceptance. As summer progresses, Doug and Maureen's relationship is put to the test, forcing them to confront their feelings and the reality of growing up. With poignant twists and moments of pure nostalgia, this film perfectly captures the magic and sadness of leaving childhood behind, reminding us that the true journey is the one we take in discovering who we really are.
