In a dark and eerie Victorian laboratory, Dr. Emmanuel H. Flint, an eccentric scientist, becomes obsessed with an ancient theory about the origin of evil that manifests in human flesh. After discovering a strange skeleton on a remote island, Flint feels he has made a finding that could change humanity's understanding. Thanks to his research, the doctor succeeds in reproducing a dark substance that seems to breathe life into dead flesh, but it also uncovers a danger he could not foresee.

As he experiments with the creature, he soon realizes that he has not only brought an unimaginable horror to life but also begins to uncover dark secrets about his own family and its connection to madness. Flint's insanity escalates at an alarming rate, as he confronts the monster he has created, as well as his own internal demons.

With an atmosphere thick with mystery and horror, the film immerses us in the protagonist's struggle against his own thirst for power. Overwhelmed by his experiments and surrounded by a cast of dubious characters, including his daughter and an intriguing medical colleague, Flint finds himself ensnared in a plot that forces him to question not only his sanity but also the very essence of humanity. In a chilling climax, the doctor faces the consequences of his actions, revealing that sometimes, the true danger lies closer than we dare to imagine.
