In the midst of a vast and desolate ocean, a crisis-stricken couple decides to escape the routine and pain that life on land has brought them. John and Rae, who are trying to leave behind the tragedy that has marked their relationship, embark on a sailboat towards the tranquility of the open sea. However, what seemed to be a journey of healing soon turns into a genuine emotional battlefield.
While at sea, their plans for peace are interrupted when they discover a drifting boat. Drawn by curiosity, they decide to investigate, only to find a manβ the bewildering and charismatic Hughie. At first glance, he appears to be a desperate castaway, but it quickly becomes evident that there is something dark and disturbing about him. Tension escalates when John, determined to help Hughie, invites him to board their vessel, and soon a deadly psychological game ensues.
As the atmosphere grows increasingly oppressive, Rae finds herself caught in a struggle between the desire to protect her husband and her survival instinct. The calmness of the sea becomes a reflection of the storm brewing on board, and the couple must confront their own demons, as well as an unpredictable stranger, if they hope to survive this hellish experience. In this claustrophobic tale of betrayal and distrust, the boundaries between love and fear dangerously blur.
