Set against the backdrop of mid-20th century South Africa, this film follows the story of a young journalist named Henry Nxumalo, who embarks on a quest for truth in a country marked by apartheid and growing racial oppression. Henry, skillfully portrayed by a talented actor of the time, joins a group of writers and artists from the renowned newspaper "Drum," known for giving voice to the injustices suffered by Black South Africans.

As Henry immerses himself in the life of his community, he faces moral and professional dilemmas. Torn between the desire to inform and the threats from the authorities, he increasingly feels trapped in a dangerous game. His investigation leads him to uncover a series of shocking events, from police brutality to the resilience of the population, revealing the heartbreaking realities faced by those he seeks to represent.

The film not only explores Henry's bravery and his struggle to be an ethical journalist in a corrupt world, but also showcases the vibrant Afro-South African culture, with its music, art, and indomitable spirit. Along his journey, Henry is forced to reevaluate his role in society and the cost he is willing to pay to defend the truth. With an emotionally charged and powerful approach, this story becomes a striking portrait of resistance in dark times.
