In a small agricultural village in the Soviet Union, daily life revolves around the harvest and hard work in the fields. However, the arrival of a new tractor, a symbol of modernization and progress, disrupts the delicate balance of the place. The farmers, divided between tradition and innovation, face internal tensions that test their community. While some embrace the machine with hope, others feel that their way of life and connection to the land are in jeopardy.

The young protagonist, a fervent advocate of manual labor, struggles between his love for traditional agriculture and the allure of the machine that promises to free his people from grueling work. As the story unfolds, the group becomes embroiled in a conflict that not only has personal repercussions but also reflects the broader social change affecting the nation.

With stunning black-and-white imagery, the film captures both the beauty of the landscape and the internal struggle of the characters. Through its innovative visual narrative and an almost poetic approach, the work invites reflection on loss and progress. These human experiences are reinforced by the backdrop of a cultural revolution, where technology and old practices clash, leaving the community at a crossroads. A story that resonates with those who have had to choose between the old and the new.
