On a remote Pacific island during World War II, a carefree and somewhat grumpy alcohol smuggler, Walter Eckland, suddenly finds himself in the midst of a war conflict. While trying to lead a calm life away from complications, his world becomes complicated when he meets a group of women and children who have landed on the island after a forced crash landing. Led by a strong and determined teacher, the intrepid and charismatic Catherine, the survivors must adapt to their new environment, and Walter, who is more comfortable with his bottle of whiskey, becomes their unexpected protector.

Amidst comedic situations and misunderstandings, Walter confronts the reality of war and discovers that his life as a lonely man makes much more sense now that there are people around him who depend on him. The chemistry between Walter and Catherine is undeniable, leading to romantic moments and hilarious confrontations that reflect their opposing personalities. As danger looms and enemy planes fly over the island, Walter must put aside his selfishness and take on the role of hero, facing not only external enemies but also his own fears and feelings. The film is a blend of comedy, adventure, and romance that showcases the transformation of a man who finds his true purpose and sense of belonging amidst chaos.
