In a dystopian future, the world is on the brink of destruction, ravaged by wars, pollution, and a desolate society. A frustrated scientist named Dr. Edward Bale, obsessed with understanding and controlling time, conducts an experiment that launches him into the year 1816, in the midst of an unusual summer that would inspire the creation of some of the most memorable works of Gothic literature. However, his time travel not only takes him to the heart of history but also entangles him in the lives of famous figures such as the poet Lord Byron and the writer Mary Shelley, who is in the process of bringing her famous creature to life.
As Bale attempts to return to his time, he discovers that his own research reflects the ethical and existential dilemmas of creation and destruction. As he delves deeper into Shelley and Byron's world, he grapples with the anguish of his own existence and what it means to be human. Things become complicated when he encounters the monster, a tormented creation seeking its place in a world that rejects it.
Between reality and fiction, Bale must make decisions that will change not only the course of his life but the very fate of humanity. The film explores themes of ambition, responsibility, and the dangerous ramifications of creation, while offering a haunting reflection on the limits of science and human nature.
