In the turbulent 1960s, a young recruit joins a National Guard battalion in the heart of a country divided by the Vietnam War. With the pressure of an increasingly intense conflict and the arrival of young men of draft age being sent to the front lines, the recruit faces the harsh reality of a military life that does not align with his dreams of glory and heroism.

The officer in charge, a veteran hardened by past experiences, becomes a mentor to the young recruit as he struggles to survive in an environment where loyalty is tested and the lives of his men are constantly in danger. At the same time, the recruit battles between his desire to escape the imminent battle and his growing sense of duty towards his comrades, who become his new family. As the conflict escalates, the story delves into the internal struggle between patriotism and the horrors of war, and how the military system attempts to mold young men into heartless soldiers.

With a deeply reflective tone, this narrative becomes a powerful commentary on the shadows of war, friendship, and loss. Emotions swing between camaraderie and sacrifice, leaving the viewer questioning the price of peace and the true nature of personal sacrifice in times of war.
