The story follows Agnes "Apple" Bailey, a teenager who has had a hard and chaotic life. After escaping a violent relationship with her mother, who lives in a world of addiction and abandonment, Apple embarks on a journey in search of a better life. Her first attempt is to return to her father, a man who has not been present in her life and seems to have little interest in her well-being. However, the reality is that he is also not prepared to take on the responsibility of caring for a daughter who has been struggling to find her place in the world.
Desperate, Apple ends up in a shelter for pregnant teens, where she not only struggles to cope with her own situation but also to find a sense of belonging. In this new environment, she meets people who have gone through similar experiences and who, despite the adverse circumstances, are determined to change their lives.
The film addresses themes of redemption, resilience, and the power of family love. As Apple faces her inner demons and seeks a future for her child, her journey becomes a powerful reflection on hope and the struggle for dignity. Throughout her journey, Apple realizes that, although life is full of challenges, there is always an opportunity to start anew and find a home, even in the most unexpected places.
