Guns for San Sebastian

In a small Basque village, during the Spanish Civil War, the peaceful life of its inhabitants is interrupted by the arrival of Republican and Francoist troops fighting for control of the area. The atmosphere becomes tense, and the division between those who support the Republic and those who favor the Franco regime intensifies, leading locals to make difficult decisions that not only affect their survival but also their personal relationships.

The story follows a diverse group of characters, each caught in the whirlwind of conflict. As fighting escalates, a family man is forced to choose between loyalty to his political ideals and the protection of his wife and children. Meanwhile, a young nurse becomes a beacon of hope, providing care to the wounded from both sides and trying to unite a fractured community.

The film presents a heartbreaking portrait of war and its consequences on daily life. The cinematography highlights the beauty of the Basque landscape, contrasting with the brutality of the conflict. Through a poignant script, the film addresses themes of love, betrayal, and redemption, showing how, amidst adversity, human bonds can endure. The characters must confront their own demons while seeking a path to peace in a world that seems irrevocably divided.
