A road trip meant to enjoy a vacation quickly turns into a nightmare for the Carter family when they stop in the middle of the Nevada desert. What seemed like a peaceful break transforms into a struggle for survival when they accidentally cross paths with a disfigured cannibal family living in the nearby hills. This family harbors a dark secret and a predatory instinct that makes them relentless hunters.

In their attempt to seek help, the Carters are forced to confront their worst fears. Beginning with the father, who tries to protect his family with all available resources, to the children, each dealing with the terror in their own way. Tensions rise as violence erupts and the darkness of human nature is revealed. The film blends visceral horror with a backdrop of criticism towards family values and resilience in extreme situations.

With unexpected twists and an oppressive atmosphere, the family members must make difficult decisions while facing their twisted adversaries, who seem to know every corner of the hell they’ve stumbled into. In a race against time, the struggle will not only be to escape but also to stay united as everything around them crumbles. Will the Carters be able to survive the darkness lurking in the hills?
