In a working-class neighborhood of London, a woman named Rose faces a life filled with routine and sacrifice. The story begins on a rainy Sunday, where the oppressive atmosphere reflects Rose's emotional state, trapped in a loveless marriage with a man who barely understands her internal struggle. When an old flame, the convict and fugitive Tom, unexpectedly appears in her life, old wounds resurface and tension begins to rise.

Tom seeks refuge at Rose's home, reminding her of better times, while improvising a plan to escape the criminal life that has haunted him. However, his decisions soon unleash a series of events that jeopardize not only his freedom but also the peaceful life Rose has built. As the weekend progresses, the past and present clash, revealing dark secrets and lost longings.

With a cast that stands out for its talent, this captivating tale of love and betrayal intertwines with a social portrait of life in post-war Britain. As the rain never ceases, Rose is forced to make difficult decisions that could change her life forever. Through her struggle, the film explores themes such as redemption, forbidden love, and the consequences of choices, all under the melancholic gaze of a gray London that seems to reflect the chaos in the hearts of its characters.
