In a small village in southern Italy, a young man named Giuseppe lives a quiet life within a humble family. However, the arrival of a fierce economic crisis drives his family into despair. Gifted with a dreamer’s spirit and ambition, Giuseppe wishes to change his fate and find a way to escape the oppression of his surroundings. While his siblings struggle to keep the family farm afloat, Giuseppe is pushed to make desperate decisions.

A series of unfortunate events lead him to fall into the hands of a trafficker who, under the façade of a successful entrepreneur, hides a dark secret. Convinced that he has found an opportunity to improve his life, Giuseppe delves into a world of exploitation and betrayal. Throughout his captivity, his innocence is stripped away as his family crumbles, and his dreams turn into a nightmare.

With emotive performances and captivating direction, this film paints a raw portrait of how desperation can lead to the deepest betrayal among loved ones. As the story unfolds, Giuseppe faces the harsh reality of unchecked ambition and must find the courage to free himself from the chains that bind him, thus exploring the thin line between hope and despair in a world that seems to have turned its back on him.
