In a vibrant seaside city, a young and aspiring boxer named Walter "Kid" Galahad works as a messenger at a boxing gym. Since he was a child, he has admired the great champions and dreams of becoming one himself, but life hasn't smiled upon him completely. His luck changes when he is discovered and offered the opportunity to fight in the ring.
With natural talent and an unyielding spirit, Kid embarks on a journey filled with challenges, rivalries, and hard training. Along the way, he meets an attractive and charismatic promoter named "Slick," who sees in him the potential for a great boxer, as well as Slick's beautiful yet complicated girlfriend, who feels a strong attraction to Kid.
