In the heart of Victorian London, a young woman named Amy lives in the Marshalsea, a debtors' prison where her father, a noble yet unfortunate man, has been incarcerated due to his debts. Despite the hardships and darkness surrounding her, Amy, known as "Dorrit," becomes a beacon of hope and kindness, dedicating her life to caring for her family and helping other prisoners.

Her life takes an unexpected turn when she meets Arthur Clennam, a young man returning to England after years abroad. Intrigued by Amy's mysterious life and her connection to his own family, Arthur decides to investigate the secrets that have trapped his father in this tragic situation. As their paths intertwine, both find themselves drawn into a world of family intrigues, unbridled ambitions, and the cruel injustices of society.

Set against a backdrop of social stratification and the struggle for human dignity, the story reveals how the bonds of love, friendship, and hope can flourish even in the darkest circumstances. As their destinies intersect, Amy and Arthur must confront painful truths, learn about forgiveness, and discover what it truly means to be free in a world divided by class differences. The film is a moving exploration of the resilience of the human spirit.
