Many Wars Ago

In a context of devastation during World War II, a group of Italian soldiers finds itself trapped in a difficult situation at the front. Abandoned by their superiors and without the expected combat orders, they soon face not only the enemy but also the exhausting uncertainty and the moral dilemma of their own ideals. With a narrative that oscillates between camaraderie and despair, the main characters must grapple with the disillusionment of war and the consequences of the decisions they have made.

One of the soldiers, a young idealist who originally enlisted with hopes of heroism, begins to question the truths he was taught about honor and glory. His internal struggle intensifies as he witnesses the real impact of war on his comrades, many of whom have lost faith in the cause. As the days pass in a desolate landscape, the group confronts ethical dilemmas, reflecting on the meaning of their fight and the cost of violence.

With a melancholic tone and a focus on human emotions, the story reveals the fragility of life and the impact of war on relationships among the soldiers. Faced with imminent death and the betrayal of those who should protect them, they must decide between moving forward in a cruel world or rebelling against the circumstances that have led them to this point. A poignant and brutal exploration of war and the men who fight it.
