In a lonely corner of life, Mary, an eight-year-old girl living in Melbourne, Australia, decides to send a letter to a stranger. Her recipient is Max, a 44-year-old solitary man living in New York who has Asperger's syndrome. From that first email, an unusual and endearing friendship begins, spanning continents and years, uniting these two lost souls through a sincere exchange of letters that explore their lives, fears, desires, and dreams.

Mary, trapped in a home that seems anything but a safe place, finds in Max not only a confidant but also a source of wisdom and a model of acceptance of differences. For his part, Max, who has struggled with his own loneliness and the challenges of his condition, discovers in Mary a light that encourages him to open up to the world and confront his inner demons.

As their lives intertwine, the story prompts us to reflect on friendship, loneliness, and the struggle for human connection in a world that often feels overwhelming. Through captivating storytelling and a distinctive visual style, this moving animation shows us that, despite being separated by thousands of kilometers and experiences, the bonds we forge can be strong enough to overcome any obstacle. It is an emotional journey that leaves a mark on the hearts of those who dare to find beauty in what is different.
