My Father Was Right

In a small French town, the life of a young man named Ludovic revolves around his relationship with his eccentric father, an intellectual who feels more comfortable in the world of ideas than in everyday reality. The story unfolds in a familial setting where the paternal figure becomes a beacon of idealism, but also a source of conflict, as Ludovic yearns for a more conventional and less abstract connection with his father.

As the boy navigates the complicated terrain of adolescence, he grapples with his father's expectations, who firmly believes in a very particular worldview. This leads to misunderstandings and tensions between them, testing their family bonds. The situation becomes even more complicated with the arrival of a charming young woman in the neighborhood, who captures Ludovic's attention and becomes the catalyst for his repressed feelings.

The film explores themes of love, identity, and generational conflicts, all wrapped in an air of nostalgia for times gone by. With a mix of comedic and dramatic moments, it develops a poignant portrait of the dreams and disillusionments that young people face as they try to find their place in the world while dealing with the expectations of those they admire. The narrative culminates in an emotional confrontation that will force father and son to reevaluate their perspectives and find common ground amidst their differences.
