In a small town in Mexico, an ex-convict named Roque returns after serving his sentence, only to discover that his former love has changed her life. His plan to reclaim what he lost becomes complicated when he realizes that the school founded by his late friend is on the brink of bankruptcy. To settle debts and get the institution back on track, Roque poses as a teacher at the high school, having no idea what education entails.
Upon arrival, he faces a group of rebellious teenagers who have no intention of respecting a teacher who seems more like a criminal than an educator. With his unconventional style and questionable ethics, Roque tries to earn his students' respect, but in the process, he finds himself caught in comedic and uncomfortable situations. His lack of preparation for responsibility and his interactions with the kids create an unexpected bond, but they also land him in more trouble.
As he attempts to maintain his charade, Roque realizes that although his past haunts him, there might be a second chance for him in a life away from crime. Amid brawls, laughter, and life lessons, the ex-convict will learn that the values of education and love are found not only in books but also in the relationships he builds on his new path.
