In the bustling Chicago of the 1930s, a small-time gangster determined to leave his criminal life behind faces the imminent arrival of his fiancée, who comes from a respectable family. The plot kicks off when this character, who has woven a series of schemes and lies to fit into his future wife's world, is compelled to maintain his facade while trying to convince her family that he has changed. But things won't go as he expects.

The situation becomes even more tangled when the gangster's old cronies enter the scene, creating chaos that threatens to reveal his true identity and the secrets he has tried to hide. Confusions and misunderstandings multiply, with eccentric characters and ridiculous situations keeping the audience in a constant state of nervous laughter.

As the story unfolds, the comic entanglements and interactions between the various characters, including his family, friends, and fiancée, build a climate of hilarity that culminates in an unexpected conclusion. The film plays with clichés of gangster and romance cinema, offering a fresh and amusing twist to the narrative. Through clever dialogue and absurd situations, it explores the dilemma of being true to oneself and to those we love, while the protagonist navigates the chaos of his double life. All of this is wrapped in the vibrant atmosphere of the era, filled with music and style.
