Oscar Wilde About America

In 1882, the famous Irish playwright and novelist Oscar Wilde decides to cross the Atlantic to bring his wit and provocative ideas to American society. Upon arriving in New York, he encounters a mix of admiration and skepticism, as his flamboyant style clashes with the conservatism of the era. The film follows Wilde as he navigates the eclectic cultural life of America, from elegant dinners with New York high society to unexpected encounters with bohemian artists in San Francisco.

Throughout his journey, Wilde forms a special relationship with a local photographer struggling to gain recognition in a male-dominated world. Together, they embark on an exploration of creative and sexual freedom, challenging the norms of their time and opening the door to a dialogue about identity and diversity. However, media attention and rumors about his private life begin to entangle Wilde's existence, leading him to confront not only criticism but also his own internal demons.

With a sharp sense of humor and moments of profound reflection, this film captures the spirit of a genius who never ceased to challenge conventions. As Wilde finds his place in this new culture, his journey becomes a celebration of self-expression, creativity, and the struggle to be authentic in a world that viewed originality as a threat.
