In the bustling and vibrant world of 1950s Cuba, an ordinary Brit named Jim Wormold finds himself trapped in the routine of his life. A vacuum cleaner salesman struggling to make ends meet, Wormold receives an unexpected visit from intelligence agents who propose that he become a spy. However, Jim is a man reluctant to take risks, so he decides to take advantage of the situation. Instead of becoming embroiled in dangerous intrigues, he begins to fabricate an elaborate espionage game, creating fictitious reports about an alleged plot on the island.

As he writes about luxurious training camps and weapons that do not exist, his life turns into a mix of hilarity and danger. His “reports” capture the attention of his superiors, propelling him to unexpected levels of responsibility. But the situation complicates when a beautiful woman enters his life, and the game of espionage becomes more real than he could have ever imagined. Now, Jim must face the consequences of his lies and his risky decisions.

The plot combines political satire with a sharp sense of humor, presenting a critique of bureaucracy and the madness of the Cold War. As Wormold delves deeper into his fictional universe, the thin line between reality and fantasy blurs, leading us to an unexpected conclusion that makes us reflect on truth and deception in a world full of intrigue.
