In a convulsed Mexico at the beginning of the 20th century, two lifelong friends, Manuel and José, find themselves caught in the political and social tensions that plague the country. They grew up together in a small town, dreaming of a future filled with freedom and prosperity. However, the impending revolution threatens not only their ideals but also their loyalty to each other.
Manuel, a fervent revolutionary, joins an armed group fighting for the rights of the peasant people, while José, more pragmatic and fearful of the consequences, finds himself on the opposite side of the political spectrum, supporting the authorities trying to restore order. As violence escalates, their paths diverge, but their hearts remain bound by the memory of their happy childhood.
Throughout the story, both friends must confront moral dilemmas and heart-wrenching decisions. War not only physically separates them but also tests their friendship and principles. The narrative weaves an emotional tale of the struggle for freedom, betrayal, sacrifice, and the yearning for peace in a world ablaze. In a context of disillusionment and hope, the characters will be forced to question how far they are willing to go for their homeland and whether the sacrifice is worth it. The true battle is not only fought on the battlefield but also in the heart of each individual.
