With each murder, the shadow of his mother seems to seize him once again, making him question whether he has truly left his past behind or if the monster within him is still very much alive.
As tension mounts and paranoia takes hold of Norman, the line between sanity and madness becomes increasingly blurred. His situation complicates when the new psychologist overseeing him begins to suspect that his traumas have yet to be resolved.
