In the heart of the 1930s, a young woman named Gilda seeks to escape her troubled past. Having lived a life marked by violence and abuse at home, she finds herself trapped in a destructive relationship with a man who has manipulated her. Desperate to free herself, Gilda makes a drastic decision and heads to a remote island, hoping to find her place in the world and leave behind the ghosts that haunt her.

However, her longing for peace is soon threatened by the arrival of her former lover, who is not willing to let her go so easily. On this island, a mix of peculiar characters, from other fugitives to the local community, weave webs of intrigue and danger as Gilda struggles to maintain her freedom and find her identity.

With shades of melodrama and a backdrop of despair, the story explores the fragile boundaries between love and abuse, freedom and captivity. Gilda faces moral dilemmas that push her to her limits, testing her strength and her desire for redemption. In a tense climax, she must decide whether her safety lies in the toxic love that ensnared her or if the true fight for her life is the quest for her own autonomy.

With a cinematic style that captures the essence of the era, the film is an emotional journey that keeps the audience on the edge of their seats, reflecting on the cost of freedom and the true meaning of being safe.
