In 1921, the production of an innovative horror film is in full swing. Director F.W. Murnau is determined to bring the terror of the novel "Dracula" to the big screen in a way that audiences have never seen before. But his ambition comes at a price: to bring his vision to life, he decides to hire an unusual actor to portray the iconic count. This choice falls on Max Schreck, an enigmatic and charismatic performer whose strange presence is perfect for the role, even though his behavior is undoubtedly unsettling.
As the filming progresses, tensions begin to rise. The crew soon realizes that Schreck seems to have something more in common with his character than just acting: there is a palpable darkness about him. With each scene shot, the mystery intensifies, and the crew members feel as though they are being consumed by the chilling atmosphere that Schreck emanates.
As Murnau becomes increasingly obsessed with his masterpiece, he starts to suspect that Schreck is not just an actor, but something more sinister. In his quest for the truth, Murnau faces unimaginable horrors and the revelation that, in the name of art, the line between reality and fiction dangerously blurs. How far will Murnau go to achieve his perfect film? Is art a price worth paying, even if it costs a life?
