In a dystopian future of 2173, an ordinary man from the 1970s, Miles Monroe, finds himself at a crossroads after waking up from cryogenic sleep. Awakening in a world that is both fascinating and frightening proves to be quite a challenge. Miles, hilariously portrayed by Woody Allen, encounters a society where technology has advanced incredibly, but individual freedoms have been sacrificed. People live under the constant surveillance of an authoritarian government that is obsessed with health and morality.

As he tries to adapt, Miles accidentally becomes a target of the authorities. His life takes an unexpected turn when he crosses paths with a rebel seeking to overthrow the regime, which leads him into a series of comedic and dangerous situations. Together, Miles and his new companion embark on a journey filled with action and laughter as they attempt to evade the government agents pursuing them.

Amid the absurd humor characteristic of Allen and sharp social commentary, the film explores themes such as identity, freedom, and fear of the future. Miles's inevitable confusion in this new world reflects anyone's fear of the unknown, making it a story that is both humorous and thought-provoking. The film is a journey that uniquely combines science fiction with comedy, as the protagonist searches for the meaning of his existence in a radically changed world.
