In a small town in Judea, a boy works alongside his father as a donkey seller. As tax season approaches, the family faces the harsh reality that they must part with the old, sick donkey that has been their faithful companion for years. The young boy, who has grown up with the animal and holds a special affection for him, is devastated by the idea of selling him to a heartless merchant who will use him for profit.

With a mix of sadness and determination, the boy decides to embark on a mission to find a good home for his friend. Along the way, he encounters various peculiar characters: shrewd merchants, carefree buyers, and a group of travelers who inspire him to maintain hope. At the same time, the story intertwines with the arrival of the Messiah, and the boy begins to understand the meaning of true kindness and sacrifice.

The little donkey, despite his age and frailty, becomes a symbol of love and devotion, reminding everyone that the bonds we form can endure far beyond life itself. In the end, the story touches the heart of every viewer, prompting them to reflect on empathy and the importance of the connections we make—not only with fellow humans but also with the animals that accompany us on our journey.
