Thoroughly Modern Millie

In the vibrant 1920s in New York, a determined young woman named Millie Dillmount arrives in the city with big dreams and an indomitable spirit. Her goal is to break away from old conventions and become a modern, successful woman. Millie embarks on an adventure that leads her to land a job as a secretary, a milestone on her path to independence.

As she delves into the bustling world of the big city, Millie encounters colorful characters, including her free-spirited friend, Jimmy, who immediately captures her heart. However, things are not that simple. In her pursuit of fortune and love, Millie stumbles upon a dark underworld of human trafficking run by an evil woman who traps them in her hotel.

Through comedic situations and romantic entanglements, Millie discovers true friendship and learns that authentic modernity does not only lie in professional success, but in valuing what truly matters: love and human connection. As she fights against the wicked plans of the woman and faces the challenges of making her dreams come true, Millie transforms into a symbol of the new feminine era, all wrapped up in a feast of music and dance that captures the essence of jazz and the optimism of the time. With every step she takes, Millie reminds us that being modern is, above all, being true to oneself.
