A young couple, after going through a crisis, decides to take a road trip in the hopes of reconnecting. However, their getaway takes a dark turn when they are forced to stop at a desolate and unwelcoming roadside motel. At first, the place seems like an ordinary stop, but they soon discover they are not alone. In the room, they find a collection of videotapes that apparently document the horrifying actions of a serial killer who has been operating in the area.
As the atmosphere becomes increasingly oppressive, the tension between them intensifies. They realize that they are the next targets of the sadistic figure lurking in the darkness.
