In a remote and tumultuous country in Latin America, two young women, a French artist and a revolutionary, find themselves in the midst of a popular uprising. The former, portrayed by Catherine Deneuve, is a charming and free-spirited thinker who becomes trapped in an inhospitable jungle while searching for her own freedom and the meaning of her life. The latter, played by Jeanne Moreau, is a fearless fighter dedicated to overthrowing tyrants through her training in armed struggle and her immeasurable charisma.

Together, these two Marías embark on a thrilling adventure filled with action and romance. Along the way, they become embroiled in a series of historical and political entanglements, where the passion for freedom clashes with an internal struggle for love and loyalty. As they engage in the revolution, both discover the importance of camaraderie and the strength of their bond, facing mortal dangers, betrayals, and decisions that will test their friendship.

Humor, music, and action intertwine in this film, where each scene is infused with an air of revolution and a biting critique of patriarchy. In the end, the Marías become symbols of resistance and freedom, showing that the fight for equality and independence lies not only in arms but also in female solidarity and love.
