In a remote and desolate region of New Mexico, young Letty is sent to live with her cousin, a solitary man who tries to lead an austere life. However, life in this inhospitable land becomes a constant struggle, as relentless winds and the desert threaten to wear down her spirit. As Letty attempts to adapt, her internal torments and loneliness envelop her, while the hostile environment becomes a reflection of her mental anguish.

The arrival of a mysterious outsider alters the dynamics of her quiet, if it can be called that, life. This man, attractive and enigmatic, awakens in Letty a mix of desire and confusion. The tension between the two becomes palpable, as she grapples with following rigid social norms and her own desires.

Caught in a whirlwind of emotions, Letty feels swept away by the wind, symbolizing her internal struggle. The story delves into themes of repressed sexuality, social expectations, and the fight for survival in a hostile environment. As the relationship with the outsider intensifies, Letty faces decisions that could change her life forever. In a climactic moment filled with emotion, the wind becomes another character, carrying with it Letty's longings, fears, and choices on a heart-wrenching journey toward self-discovery.
