In a small village in Italy, the life of a disillusioned artist takes an unexpected turn when he encounters a strange group of characters who challenge social norms. It all begins when a young painter, trapped in the routine of his daily life, decides to attend an unusual exhibition featuring a woman who, due to a bizarre experiment, has been endowed with characteristics similar to those of a monkey. This "donna scimmia" becomes a mystery and an obsession for the painter, who sees in her an inexhaustible source of inspiration and, at the same time, a reflection of his own existential anguish.
As his fascination with the young woman grows, he embarks on a series of interactions that test his perception of beauty and madness. Along his journey, he encounters a series of quirky characters, each with their own stories and struggles, who teach the painter about acceptance, freedom, and the true meaning of art. However, society does not accept their relationship, leading to a series of comedic and dramatic situations that question the boundaries between the human and the animal, madness and reason.
The story culminates in an explosive climax that confronts the painter with his own demons, while the young woman challenges the very idea of what it means to be "normal." A bold reflection on identity and creativity, sprinkled with humor and a touch of surrealism.
