In the majestic mountains of British Columbia in the late 19th century, a bear cub is orphaned after his mother is killed in a rockfall. Alone and vulnerable, the young bear cub is forced to fend for himself in a harsh wilderness. Along the way, he encounters an adult male Kodiak bear, who is at first reluctant to accept him. However, as the cub demonstrates his tenacity and desire to survive, an unexpected bond forms between them. Together, they must face the dangers of the wild, including two hunters who seek to hunt them down.
