The Cable Guy

In this dark comedy, an ordinary guy named Steven is a loner who, after moving to a new city, decides to install cable in his home to improve his social life. However, what starts as a quest for entertainment quickly turns into a nightmare when he encounters an obsessive technician named Chip. This eccentric character, portrayed by a dazzling Jim Carrey, rapidly becomes an unwanted friend, willing to do whatever it takes to pull Steven into his strange world.

Chip is a solitary man who has been marginalized and yearns for human connection. He not only wants to be the best cable technician but also has a deranged perspective on friendship and loyalty. As his bond with Steven intensifies, it becomes evident that his affection is anything but healthy. From creating ridiculous situations to ensnaring Steven in a whirlwind of madness, Chip's obsession begins to take a dangerous turn.

As Steven tries to distance himself and regain control of his life, their relationship transforms into a cat-and-mouse game filled with dark comedy and uncomfortable tensions. With unexpected twists and a chilling conclusion, the film explores how far someone might go in the name of friendship and how fragile the balance between love and madness can be. The movie serves as a mirror reflecting how the pursuit of connection can, at times, become a prison... or a high-tension cable.
