In a sophisticated yet dangerous Kansas City of the 1930s, a sarcastic and cynical private detective, who has seen more than his fair share of trouble, finds himself trapped in an intricate web of crime and corruption. The arrival of an unusual partner, a tough and principled cop, completely transforms his way of operating. Together, they form an explosive duo, filtered through humor and the clash of personalities.

The plot begins when the detective takes on what seems to be a straightforward case: the theft of a valuable necklace. However, he soon discovers that behind this theft lies a larger conspiracy involving the local mafia. As their investigation plunges them deeper into the world of organized crime, the friends must navigate their differing work styles. While the cop seeks justice at all costs, the detective is drawn to greed and excess.

The dynamics between these two contrasting characters generate both comedic and tense moments as they try to unravel the web of lies surrounding them. With an unmistakable period aesthetic, the story is full of unexpected twists and a conclusion that promises to surprise everyone. In a world where loyalty is bought and sold, these two men will have to decide how far they are willing to go to uncover the truth. The film is presented as a tribute to the classic comedy and action thrillers that defined an era.
