In a small and picturesque French village, where life seems to flow calmly, an emotional storm unfolds when a young woman named Lise returns after a long journey. Her arrival awakens old secrets within the community, including a tumultuous relationship with her possessive and manipulative mother, who remains trapped in the past. Eager to regain her independence, Lise embarks on a secret romance with a handsome writer who has just arrived, challenging the social norms that govern her environment.

As the passion between Lise and the writer intensifies, Lise's mother becomes a jealous bear, determined to protect "her" reputation and the control she exerts over her daughter. In an unexpected twist, the tension between mother and daughter reaches a boiling point, revealing painful truths and a violently distorted love story.

The atmosphere grows increasingly oppressive and bleak, reflecting the characters' internal struggles and the conflict between personal desires and family expectations. In a climax filled with suspense, the film reveals that love can be both a refuge and a deadly trap, leading Lise to make decisions that will change her life forever. With sophisticated direction and an intriguing script, the story explores the best and worst of love and loyalty, leaving the audience on the edge of their seats until the unexpected conclusion.
