In the 1840s, a young woman named Miranda Wells lives with her family on a farm in upstate New York. Yearning for something beyond the rural and simple life, she is invited to the imposing mansion of her relative, the enigmatic Nicholas Van Ryn. Intrigued by the opulent lifestyle it offers, Miranda accepts the invitation and moves into the majestic yet unsettling property.

As she adapts to her new surroundings, the young woman begins to feel drawn to Nicholas's charismatic yet somber personality, a man with a dark past and an air of mystery that envelops the mansion. However, the atmosphere of luxury and charm soon transforms into a setting charged with tension and fear. The house is inhabited by chilling secrets, and rumors about the mysterious disappearance of Nicholas’s wife create an unsettling aura.

As Miranda delves deeper into Nicholas’s life, she discovers how chance and destiny intertwine in unexpected ways. The attraction between them evolves into a dangerous relationship that pulls her into an abyss of obsession and madness. In this game of manipulation and power, Miranda must confront her fate and question what sacrifices she is willing to make for love, as the shadows of Dragonwyck threaten to engulf her. The film is a captivating puzzle of love, betrayal, and the dark side of human nature.
